Captiva Island, Florida - New Print Releases

Pelican Point

Tides

Spirit Of The Sea

I spent the first week of April on Captiva Island, Florida.  I have been visiting this wonderful Island for most of my life, and it is truly a beautiful and relaxing place.   It is not however an easy place to photograph.  The abundance of large gated homes, resorts, and unattractive mangrove vegetation (all of which are stunningly beautiful in their own right and part of the island charm) make finding an image that can make one hold their breath and want to step into it is a challenge.  After all these years of searching for images that stirred emotions within myself from one of my favorite destinations, I believe I have finally captured one small part of the essence of Captiva Island.

These three images are my latest additions to my Limited Edition Print Collection, and I hope they stir emotions for you as well.  I would also like to thank my brother for discovering the actual spirit in the third image.  I had already finished and named this image when he was in my studio while I was proofing it.  He instantly said "wow there is a face in the water!"  I had already named it for something I felt was alive in the image, but I had no idea it was to this degree.  So look to the upper center of the bottom image and see if you can see the emerging face of the "Spirit Of The Sea."
